Dan O'Dwyer of O'Dwyer Homes Elected As President For HomeAid Atlanta For 2010 - 2012
January 2010 - Dan O'Dwyer, President of O'Dwyer Homes was elected as President for HomeAid Atlanta by the Board of Directors for the 2010 - 2012 terms. HomeAid is the designated charity of the Greater Atlanta Homebuilder's Association and it provides shelters for the temporarily homeless.

Dan O'DwyerDan has been involved with HomeAid Atlanta for several years. In 2006, he generously served as HomeAid's Builder Captain for The Drake House project, renovating 16 apartments for homeless families in Roswell, GA. He later joined HomeAid's Board of Directors in 2009.

Mike Smith HBA Builder of the YearMike Smith Receives the 2009 Builder of the Year Award

November 2009 - The Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association awarded Mike Smith with the 2009 Builder of the Year Award. - Top 10%: Schools that are in the top 10% as measured by assessments in reading and mathematics.
- Greatest Gains: Schools that demonstrated greatest continuous gains in student achievement for the past five years as measured by assessments in reading and mathematics.

Touchstone HomesMay 2009 – Touchstone Homes employees, family, friends and kids walked in the 19th Annual Susan G Komen Breast Cancer 5k at Atlantic Station on Saturday, May 9th in support of a cure for breast cancer. Team Touchstone “Designed for Hope, Built for a Cure” had 28 members representing Gwinnett County who devoted their time and energy to support this community program.

Tina Bennett, Marketing Coordinator, has a personal reason for leading the Team Touchstone initiative. Her mother, Buffy Brunner, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1999. They decided to celebrate her 10th anniversary as a survivor this year by walking the 5k. Tina and her mom, who lived in Texas until moving back to Atlanta in 2008, have walked in numerous events over the past 9 years. They vow to do this race every year together from now on.

The Susan G Komen Race for the Cure raised $1.5 million dollars for breast cancer research through the 2009 5k participants and donations are still coming in!!

April 2009 - Model Home Designer, Cassie Dixson, has been BUSY! She has opened new Sales Centers/Model Homes in four communities this year with more in the near future! Touchstone Homes has decided that some of the Model Homes were beginning to look dated and "routine", so we sold most of the furnishings to residents of the neighborhood and started fresh in the new Model Homes. Some of the Models had been open for just a year or two, some in the same location, same furnishings, same "look" for more than five years," says Cassie Dixson. "So we decided to spice things up a by showcasing other floorplans and homes with the hopes that it would drive prospective homeowners into each community." Love and Laughter Filled the Night at Heron Bay's Sweetheart Soiree
February 2009 – The Heron Bay Community Association and the Social Activities Committee held a Sweetheart Soiree for residents at the Heron Bay Lodge on Valentine's evening. With 56 guests in attendance, the memorable event was considered a hit by attendees. The romance-filled evening included a delicious array of tempting foods and beverages, with special His and Hers martinis, live music and gifts.


The romantic atmosphere was set by live jazz music provided by the popular Henley Varner Band. Heron Bay's clubhouse, the Lodge, was transformed into a picture perfect location for the enchanted evening. The meal was complete with decadent dessert treats and a scrumptious Raspberry Elegance cake. Decorations included elegant white tablecloths covered in fresh rose petals, complete with soft candle light. House in the West Highlands community of Atlanta. Upon completion the home served as a demonstration home for the public that showcased environmentally friendly and sustainable design features attainable for the typical Atlanta family. The Green House recently sold and proceeds from the sale will benefit Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Throughout his career, Brock has served on numerous committees and councils at the HBA, including the Government Affairs Council and the Developers Council. He has served on the HBA's board of directors since 1997, serves on the Executive Committee as a builder at large and was elected a Life Director of the board in 2007. Brock is also on the boards of both the HBA of Georgia and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), and has served as President of the Dekalb Home Builders Association. In addition to his HBA service, Brock has also served as the President of the Dekalb Developers Council, is the Urban Land Institute’s Housing Committee Chair and is a board member of the Agape Center.

The Builder of the Year award tops Brock's long list of recognitions and accomplishments. In the last two years, the company has received 15 OBIE awards for outstanding building design, urban redevelopment/revitalization and marketing efforts from the Greater Atlanta Home Builder's Association. Heron Bay Announces the Grand Opening of C Changes Hair Studio
