Jeff Betsill Homes, Inc. announces a price reduction
July 2008 – Jeff Betsill Homes, Inc. announces a
price reduction on its new homes in The Estates of Persimmon Creek,
a 320 lot subdivision in Coweta County, GA just off Collinsworth
Road approximately one mile from I-85 at Exit 56.
Homes originally priced in the 280’s are now being
offered in the 250’s, with other choices available up to the mid
300’s. Persimmon Creek includes large lots from 1.3 acres to 3 acres
and beautiful amenities including a community pool with children's
features and a pool house. The subdivision also includes miles of
sidewalks and walking trails. Directly across from the subdivision
entrance is a quality Golf course. The subdivision has always
offered great price, location and amenities. But with this price
reduction, this development offers unsurpassed value for today’s
homebuyer.
"Taking the extra time to really understand what the buyer wants and
needs is the key," stated Jason Betsill, (a third generation
homebuilder). "We are lowering only the prices, never the quality.
We understand the significant market correction that has occurred
and we have taken measures to ensure purchasers that they are not
overpaying for our homes. We have worked with the subcontractors to
get pricing down and we have additionally taken reductions in our
margins. Our warranty is still in place as always and the quality
never changes. There are other locations in our area that are in
this same price range. However, they do not offer the amenities,
location, and standard features we are offering at this price. We
believe a side by side comparison of our features, location, quality
and pricing will show that this is the best deal in Coweta County
for new construction. Any questions can be directed to info@jeffbetsillhomes.com
or

Mark Carruth Brings Diverse Background to Active
Adult Market
JUNE
2008 - As a third generation homebuilder, Mark Carruth has been
building homes since the age of 16. In college, Carruth pursued a
medical career briefly, but as a junior decided his passion was
building homes. Carruth graduated from the University of Georgia
with a Business Degree with an emphasis in real estate. After
college, Carruth worked in the Macon and Atlanta residential and
commercial markets before starting his first company, Loren
Construction. Carruth now brings that diverse background to the
active adult market at Windsong Properties, which he founded with
Steve Romeyn to meet a demand fueled by the baby boomers and the
change in demographics.
Windsong is Carruth’s fourth company and is his first company
focused solely on the active adult market. Carruth relates to the
active adult as an empty nester himself, and he uses that personal
experience and merged it with his building experience.
“Building for the active adult market is just as much
about building a lifestyle as it is building the actual home,” said
Carruth. “People go through a lot of changes in their fifties.
Whether it is career-related, family-related or health-related,
Windsong allows active adults to live a lower-maintenance lifestyle
in a community of like-minded people.”
Windsong pays attention to the details that make living simple for
the active adult. Homes are single-level, have no steps, are
EasyLiving certified and have wider openings creating wheelchair
accessibility. The homes are smaller, but the individual rooms are
more spacious.
After 30 years of building homes, Carruth still enjoys the process
and works hard to make it enjoyable for his clients as well.
“Clients are excited about the custom building process, but have
reservations because they have heard so many horror stories about
the homebuilding process,” said Carruth. “I just want the process to
be fun. You do not want your client to be worn out or stressed; and
you want the results to be positive.”
When he’s not building homes, Carruth enjoys playing golf, boating
or traveling to his second home on Hilton Head Island. Carruth is
also actively involved with Habitat for Humanity and the Greater
Atlanta Home Builder’s Association. For more information, call

Brock Built Builds a Better Community
June
2008 – Atlanta’s largest intown homebuilder, Brock Built, is
partnering with WSB-TV Channel 2 in the “Going Green 2008” campaign,
an important program addressing an issue that is changing the
quality of life of every citizen in Georgia. As part of that effort,
Brock Built has started construction on an environmentally-friendly
demonstration home in its Atlanta West Highlands Community. When
complete, the new home will be open for tours and auctioned to the
highest bidder with all proceeds going to Children’s Healthcare of
Atlanta.
Groundbreaking for The Green House began in March and work is
progressing quickly. When complete, the home will showcase
environmentally friendly and sustainable design features attainable
for the typical Atlanta family. Contributions are being solicited
for funds, services, building materials, fixtures, appliances and
everything else necessary to build the home. All participating
vendors are required to demonstrate that their contribution will
promote EarthCraft standards.
The EarthCraft program is a voluntary green building program which
serves as a blueprint for healthy, comfortable homes that reduce
utility bills and protect the environment. EarthCraft homes are
thoroughly inspected and tested (for factors such as air leakage and
carbon monoxide safety) before the homeowner moves in. They are
proven to help save energy and water and conserve natural resources.
They are more affordable because they help homeowners lower energy
costs by up to 30%, lower maintenance and repair costs, and even
lower doctor’s bills for health problems related to poor indoor air
quality.
Construction on The Green House is expected to be complete in
August, when the public will be invited to tour the home. WSB –TV
will film the entire building process and will run a special
one-hour prime time program in September telling the story of the
innovative partnership behind the home’s creation, as well as the
remarkable transformation of the larger West Highlands community.
The Green House will be auctioned off to the highest bidder in
October 2008. All proceeds from the sale will be given to Children’s
Healthcare of Atlanta, a not-for-profit organization that provides
care, research, teaching, wellness and charity care for the children
of Atlanta.

Not only that, it also makes our homes healthier and more
comfortable to live in. Buyers won’t be disappointed.”
Haven applies energy modeling calculations for each home through
residential energy analysis software. The model takes into account
the home’s dimensions, its position and components of its
construction to predict the number of kWH and Therms it will use. At
closing, the homeowner receives a certificate outlining their home’s
floorplan and its estimated usage. The homeowner sends Haven monthly
copies of gas and electric bills, which are reviewed and tallied for
annual usage at the end of 12 and 24 months. At those times, Haven
pays any overages by multiplying them by the cost per kWH and Therms
as stated on the bills.
Haven Properties builds in Cherokee, Cobb, Dawson, Douglas, Forsyth
and South Fulton counties with price ranges from the high $300,000s
to the $700,000s. For more information on Haven Properties, call

Pottery Barn inspired Dorchester model showcases furniture and

Homes at Kensington Creek Manor are priced from the $170,000s making
them ideal for new home buyers, many of which may not always have
the furniture and accessories they desire to fill their home.
Each room within the two-story Dorchester home features items from
Pottery Barn which can be purchased for approximately $5,000. When
deciding what furniture and accessories to feature in the home,
Craigo said he chose items that were hot sellers at Pottery Barn,
such as the Chesapeake dining table located on the patio in the
backyard.
In addition to the multitude of ideas buyers at this Lawrenceville
community may receive, homeowners also enjoy a fabulous array of
amenities that are perfect for gatherings with family and neighbors,
including a swimming pool, mushroom fountain, tennis courts,
playground and a picnic pavilion with grill.

Plan to take part in the 2008 Spring Parade of
Homes
April 2008 – During the weekends of April 19 & 20 and 26 & 27
more than 100 new homes throughout the Atlanta region will be part
of the 2008 Spring Parade of Homes. This year’s Parade will be
unlike any other, combining the forces of four local Home Builders
Associations. During the Parade, guests can tour a variety of home
styles and types built by a variety of builders.
“There has never been a better time to buy a new home than now.”
said David Ellis, executive vice president of the Greater Atlanta
Home Builders Association. “As a steady demand for new homes
continues, we are seeing the current inventory supply shrinking.
Lower housing prices and special incentives will soon be a thing of
the past as builders begin to sell their current inventory. The
Spring Parade of Homes offers new home shoppers and those who are
considering buying a new home the opportunity to visit a variety of
communities, and to speak with real estate agents and buyers.”
The 2008 Parade of Homes is free and open to the public. Specifics
on builders and communities participating are available on
www.paradeofhomesatlanta.com.
“This event comes at a perfect time,” continues Ellis. “Today’s real
estate market is truly a buyers’ market. For many, that makes owning
a dream home an even more affordable option than previously thought.
Interest rates remain low, increasing how much home can be bought
for the same monthly payment than with higher interest rates. A
strong job market and great incentives are also contributing
factors, making now the best time to buy a new home and get a great
deal.”
The Parade will be held the weekends of April 19 & 20 and 26 & 27,
with an option to have the homes open the week in between. Each
participating home will be featured on the Parade’s Web site, which
will feature extensive searching and mapping capabilities. Listings
will be featured on the site until the 2009 Parade of Homes. For
more information on the Parade of Homes, please visit
www.paradeofhomesatlanta.com
